Soluble problems are basically not problems

In modern days, people often complain about stress, about how many problems they face in life; failing exams, breaking up, losing a job, bankruptcy, family torment and countless other events most deem as problems. Sound harsh? Perhaps...

True, there are dejecting events that cause one to feel like it’s the end of the world, but we should realise that these will just plague us for a moment. A brave man will still cry when crumbling bricks of challenges fall upon him but a true loser is one who succumbs to the obstacles and never look up again.

To me, as long as there is opportunity to start all over again, even if it means from the scratch, nothing will remain as a problem. Yes, I will still cry at those trying times, but soon enough, I will garner enough self-respect to stand up again as a person with dignity and walk on by.

Failed an exam? Take that, knowing that you have not done enough to deserve an A. Put in more effort.

Breaking up? Take that, realising that it is either you or her deserve someone better. Get another.

Losing a job? Take that, knowing that it is either you have not done enough to deserve the job or a better employment is waiting for you to seek. Open the newspaper.

Bankruptcy? Take that, knowing that money is of significance importance but you can always accumulate wealth all over again. Remember that you always have the support of a loving family. Try again.

Not even a happy family possessed? Take that, knowing that there is a reason to every problem and you’re responsible to find out if there was negligence in your part or your children towards the family. Find out.

See? I don’t see any problem remaining. So long as problems can be solved and you can live through it, such once deemed problems will eventually evaporate into thin air.

Life is never easy. It is often easier to die than to live, leaving behind all the responsibilities as a true person than to face and overcome all the challenges, climbing up the ladder of life. The true test of courage is not to dare death, but to live life. I would not blame one who commits suicide under mental duress but it completely disgusts me when one kills himself for a problem one deems insoluble, which to me there is only one, and even that is not the reason to die.

The only insoluble problem that I believe exist is death. Upon death, what else can we do? Death is scary, you will have no more opportunity to accumulate the wealth you desire since young, to kiss the woman you admire and to love the family you once neglect.

So, as long as you’re alive, you’d have the chance to do things over and over and over again. As long as it doesn’t take your life away, no matter how harsh the reality is, any problem would soon be solved or just fade away as time goes by.

To those who find themselves in room of desperation, open the door and come out for some fresh air. Take a moment and think, cry if you need to. Realise that as long as you breathe, you own countless opportunities to resolve anything.

Now, get your ass back into the room, face any challenge like a man, a person with self-respect and never forget that you hold the key to a chest of opportunities in life. Remember, life is never fair, it’s just fairer than death, that’s all
